Information about and pictures of the celebrations of the
Second Annual International Day of Radiant Peace, June 22, 2000
around the world !

Some of the celebrations in 2000 included:

Sydney, Australia:  A Peace mural art project with children in primary schools!

New York:  Ringing of church bells.  Also, a special distribution of "Heart to Heart: Children Speak of Peace" books!

London:  At Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, proclaiming the International Day of Radiant Peace as declared by cities, states, and communities in the U.S. and Europe, a Peace Walk to the Greenwich meridian, and more!

Elgin, Illinois:  An evening gathering held to celebrate Radiant Peace on beautiful garden grounds!

Golden, Colorado:  A Senior Peace Project at a local center.  Plus, flying Radiant Peace flags!

Colorado:  Radiant Peace Walks at low and high level trails throughout the day at Rocky Mountain National Park and meditations at lakeside!

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: Passing out Peace Patches and special bell ringing!

St. Petersburg, Florida: Open House at The Radiant Peace Division from 9:30 am to 6 pm.  Plus, special celebrations at businesses in the city, bell-ringing, and an International Day of Radiant Peace celebration and Peace Essay Award program with students studying English at Eckerd College!!

Cedar Rapids, Iowa:  Reading the proclamation from Cedar Rapids and celebrating with carillon concerts!

Berlin, Germany: A Radiant Peace Walk from the Brandenburg Gate to the Reichstag carrying Radiant Peace flags and handing out Peace Patches and "Radiant Frieden" cards!

Vienna, Austria:  A Peace meditation up in the hills at noon, followed by a Peace Picnic!
