All About The Radiant Peace Education Awards
Our largest Radiant Peace project, The
Radiant Peace Education Awards, has reached
many thousands of elementary-school students across the United States. Each year,
students have written an essay or created
art or projects based on a Radiant
Peace theme, such as "My
Commitment to Radiant Peace" or "What Radiant Peace Means to Me."
The winners of The Radiant Peace Education Awards Holiday 2007 are
listed here
(PDF file) and some of the winning essays and sentences are here (PDF file)!
The Radiant Peace Education Awards for spring 2008 will be announced soon. While
themes change each year, interested educators can look at the
entry guidelines for the spring 2008 program to
plan for next year,
as a 6-page file or by choosing pages to print. Teachers, student groups and home-schoolers may also
request copies of the guidelines and forms sent via mail or fax.
We are now sending notices via email in addition to mail -- to make sure that
you get the next invitation, please
send us your email address!
Since 1991, The Radiant Peace Education Awards have given children and
teenagers an opportunity to use their creative skills
in writing, art, and other media to express themselves
as Radiant Peacemakers. Entries have ranged from handmade quilts to
video productions of concerts and original plays. In The
Radiant Peace Education Awards program,
all students receive
Radiant Peace Patches and/or stickers in recognition of their participation. In
addition, outstanding entries receive special honors and cash awards.
